Conditions for entering Georgia during the COVID-19 pandemic

Entry rules for COVID-19 vaccinated visitors:



From March 1, citizens of all countries, traveling by air, land, or sea from any country may enter Georgia if they present the document confirming the full course of any COVID-19 vaccination OR present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours (96 hours for visitors traveling from the U.S) before their arrival.


Entry rules for COVID-19 vaccinated visitors:

  • Citizens of all countries, traveling by land from any country may enter Georgia if they present the document confirming the full course of any COVID-19 vaccination and negative PCR test results.
  • Citizens of all countries, traveling by land from any country may enter Georgia if they present the documents confirming recovery from the Covid-infection (confirmed positive PCR-test) during the last 100 days and one dose conduct of any vaccination listed by the WHO for emergency use and also the negative PCR test taken in the last 72 hours prior to the visit to Georgia. The sequence of infection and vaccination does not make difference, at least 14 days must be passed from the moment of vaccination

  • Citizens of all countries, traveling by air from any country may enter Georgia if they present the document confirming the full course of any COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Citizens of all countries, traveling by air from any country may enter Georgia if they present documents confirming recovery from the Covid-infection (confirmed positive PCR-test) during the last 100 days and one dose conduct of any vaccination listed by the WHO for emergency use. The sequence of infection and vaccination does not make difference, at least 14 days must be passed from the moment of vaccination.


Individuals who have recovered from coronavirus (during the last 100 days) and were vaccinated with a single dose (14 days must be passed from the moment of vaccination) will be considered fully vaccinated and the same regulations as for fully vaccinated people will apply for easier border crossing.

  • Who traveling by air will have to provide a positive PCR test result and document confirming the single dose of vaccine;
  • Who traveling by land and sea will have to provide a positive PCR test result, a document confirming the single dose of vaccine and negative PCR test taken within 72 hours;


Entry rules for non-vaccinated visitors:

  • Non-vaccinated visitors traveling by air/land who are nationals or residents of 64 countries will have to provide a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours (96 hours for visitors traveling from the U.S) before their arrival and undergo a second PCR test at their own expense, on the third day of arrival in Georgia.

  • Children under 10 years old are exempted from PCR test requirements to enter Georgia and on the third day after arrival.


Citizens and residence permit holders of the following states may enter Georgia by air, land, and sea under the conditions mentioned below. They must travel directly from the below-mentioned countries, including transit travel through third countries:

COVID-19 related restrictions are gradually lifted in full compliance with safety standards and regulations:

  • The mountain resorts and ropeways
  • Intercity transport
  • Indoor and outdoor spaces of restaurants
  • Hotels throughout the country
  • From March 1 attendance at training, conferences, and seminars allowed without PCR and Antigen test.
  • Museums and libraries
  • Malls and marketplaces
  • Restaurants and food facilities operate in Georgia without hourly restrictions
  • The permissible number of spectators at cinemas, theatres, and the opera house will increase from 30% to 50%


In case the foreign visitor is deemed COVID-19 positive during the visit to Georgia

  • In case the foreign visitor turns out to be COVID-19 positive as a result of undergoing testing procedures, he/she will be contacted by the representative of the relevant institution on the provided contact number.
  • Assessment of the health conditions of the COVID-infected person will be conducted based on a query, and the means of further treatment will be planned accordingly (redirection to the medical institution, clinical hotel, or self-isolation).
  • The visitor is required to cover all the expenses related to the accommodation and treatment in the medical institution and clinical hotel, as well as home supervision, the services of the doctor, all the necessary examinations, and treatment.
  • The treatment period according to the established protocol equals 10 days, while in case of worsening of symptoms and additional necessity - at least 14 days.
    Foreign visitors will be provided with the free-of-charge services of the central online clinic doctor consultations and transportation to the medical institution and clinical hotel. The daily expenses of accommodation and meals per person, at the clinical hotel, equals appr. 80-120 GEL.
  • From March 1, if a foreign visitor turns out to be COVID-19 positive as a result of undergoing testing procedures, the visitor can notify 112 emergency response centers and will be receiving relevant instructions on the required self-isolation.

In case of having contact with the COVID-infected person

  • In case of being in contact with the COVID-infected person, the visitor can notify 112 emergency response center and will be receiving relevant instructions on the required self-isolation or testing procedures accordingly.
  • In case of identied contact with the COVID-infected person, the visitor will be contacted by the epidemiologist and informed of the requirement for self-isolation.
  • An alternative to self-isolation - possibility of undergoing the testing procedure every 72 hours timeline while staying in Georgia (the maximum period for mandatory testing procedure equals 12 days).


Public Health Orders

  • Maintain social distance.
  • Wearing facemasks outdoors were at least five people


Vaccination

Foreigners of the below categories will be eligible for getting a vaccination in Georgia.

  • A foreign citizen / stateless person legally staying on the territory of Georgia (whose legal presence is confirmed by the relevant visa, residence permit or visa-free regime), who is in Georgia and at least 3 months have passed since his / her entry;
  • Foreign nationals participating in "Work from Georgia" and their family members;
  • Foreign nationals studying in Georgia (who have not been able to leave the country) based on the list submitted by the relevant educational institution;
  • Foreign employees and their family members of institutions, accredited diplomatic missions, representations of international consular organizations, as well as equivalent missions in Georgia;
  • Residents of the Occupied Territories of Georgia, regardless of citizenship, as well as persons working on projects funded by diplomatic missions and international donor organizations in the Occupied Territories and their family members;
  • Persons in penitentiary institutions, despite the lack of an official identification document;
  • Foreign citizen defined by the ordinance, whose family member (child, parent, spouse) is a citizen of Georgia.
