Ancient Cities and Culinary Traditions
ACCOMMODATION: 4 nights in Tbilisi, 2 nights in Kakheti
DAY 1 TBILISI
Arrival in Tbilisi, meeting at the airport with a representative of VECTOR TRAVEL GEORGIA.
Transfer to the hotel.
Accommodation, rest.
20:00 Welcome dinner in a national restaurant with a show program.

DAY 2 TBILISI
Breakfast at the hotel.
Sightseeing tour of Tbilisi.
After the tour, we will go to visit a wonderful hostess who will give you a master class on cooking Georgian national dishes. You will cook with her: Mingrel kharcho (chicken in peanut sauce), mushrooms baked in ketsi with suluguni cheese and salad.
Lunch and a tasting of homemade wines.
Visit to the Wine Gallery. Optional wine tasting.

DAY 3 TBILISI - MTSKHETA-UPLISHIKHE - TBILISI
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer for an excursion to the cave city of Uplistsikhe.
Uplistsikhe (lit. God's Fortress) is an ancient cave city, one of the first cities in Georgia. The city began to be carved into the rock at the end of II — at the beginning of the first millennium BC. e., he experienced several ups and downs, was finally abandoned in the XIX century.
Next, we will visit the temple of the Athenian Zion, a magnificent architectural monument of the first half of the seventh century. The temple has magnificent frescoes related to the golden age of Georgian history of the XI century.
After we go to the home wine cellar. Here we will try home-made wine of 2 varieties - red, white, as well as chacha.
The winemaker will tell the story of wine production in Georgia.
Lunch and master classes of Georgian cuisine - today we are learning to cook khinkali.
Transfer for an excursion to the ancient city-museum of Mtskheta.
Mtskheta is an ancient museum city, the former capital of Eastern Georgia.
Visit to the ancient and unique monasteries of Jvari and Svetitskhoveli (both monuments are included in the UNESCO world heritage)
Transfer to Tbilisi.
Free evening.

DAY 4 KAKHETI:
Breakfast at the hotel.
Vacate the premises.
Transfer to the Kakheti region.
The Kakheti region has been considered the cradle of Georgian winemaking since ancient times. This is a very picturesque region with ancient monuments of architecture and hospitable locals.
A visit to the Gremi Architectural Ensemble, where our guests admire the old frescoes in the stone church of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, will look into the restored royal palace.
We climb along a winding mountain road to the picturesque monastery complex of Nekresi, there are preserved buildings dating back to the IV century.
Transfer to Shilda at the Shaloshvili Cellar Hotel.

Tour of the cellars and wine storage facilities.
Kindzmarauli Shaloshvili Marani wine tasting, produced here, won a gold medal at the international exhibition of mines in 2017 and is considered the best Kindzmarauli in Georgia.

DAY 5 KAKHETI:
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure for an excursion.
Visit to the Alaverdi Monastery - the cathedral of the first quarter of the 11th century (St. George's Cathedral) and the monastery complex in the Akhmeta municipality of Kakheti, Georgia. Before the construction of Tsmind Sameba in Tbilisi, Alaverdi Cathedral was the highest church building in Georgia. Alaverdi Cathedral is presented for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
We will visit Telavi, the Tsinandali Museum - the House-Museum of Alexander Chavchavadze, a local aristocrat and cultural figure. In the 19th century, the prince set up a beautiful garden on his estate, collecting plants from around the world, and also founded the first European-style wine cellar in Georgia, which still stores 19th-century wines.
For lunch, we are going at a peasant's house, where we will taste homemade dishes from eco-products and homemade wine.
Return to the Shaloshvili wine estate.
In the evening we will have a Kakheti dinner by the pool. At dinner, taste wine from the owner's cellars. There will be held master classes in Kakheti kebab.

DAY 6 KAKHETI - TBILISI

Vacation the premises.
We will visit Bodbe Monastery, a popular pilgrimage destination. On its territory are the relics of the Equal-to-the-Apostles St. Nino (it was thanks to her that Christianity became the official religion of Georgia in 326).
Our next stop will be the “City of Love” - Sighnaghi. Wandering the streets, we can plunge into the atmosphere of past centuries. And what a magnificent view of the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus Mountains!
Then we will visit the Kakheti family, where we will find a culinary master class on preparing the national delicacies of churchkhela, a delicious Kakheti lunch and wine from home cellars.
Transfer to Tbilisi.
