- First, we will visit the beautiful city of Kutaisi. It has a rich history, which begins from the legend about the Argonauts. Ages ago this city was a gem of Colchis kingdom, the main town, where the famous King Aeëtes lived, and Jason was fighting for the Golden Fleece. Kutaisi have a rich history, full of legends, amazing and sometimes tragic stories.
- In Kutaisi, we will visit Gelati Monastery. It is a medieval monastic complex, which was found in the 12th century. The monastery was found by David the Builder during period, and is considered to be a masterpiece of the Georgian Golden Age. Gelati is still a functioning church.
- Afterward we’ll stop at Bagrati Cathedral, a masterpiece of medieval Georgian architecture, which was built in the 11th century. Bagrati Cathedral was built during the reign of King Bagrat III and was considered to be the main temple of his kingdom.
- Our next stop will be at the Prometheus Cave. This wonderful monument was named in honor of Prometheus, who according to the legend was chained to the rock at this place. The cave is located 7km from Tskaltubo Health Resort and was discovered only in 1983 year. The length of the cave is 1.5 km, and the depth is 145 m, it has 15 halls and a river with waterfalls. The most ancient layers of the cave are millions of years old. There is a lake, river and waterfall hidden in a cave. The mysterious dark lake surface is curved by the small boats.
